Family Peer Support
Family peer support is a type of support service provided to families who have children with emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges. It involves the assistance of a trained and certified Family Peer Advocate (FPA) who has lived experience caring for a child with similar challenges. These FPAs provide emotional and practical support to families by sharing their experiences, knowledge, and resources. They also help families navigate the complex healthcare and social service systems, advocate for their child’s needs, and access community-based services and supports.
